HAPPY BIRTHDAY BILLY!

May 2008

Billy Elliot the Musical celebrated its third sensational year in London with a special birthday performance at the Victoria Palace Theatre on Monday 12th May 2008.

Following an opening speech by director Stephen Daldry and with Executive Producer David Furnish in the audience, the longest-serving Billy, Layton Williams, led the cast in a fantastic performance. Recently quoted as ‘the best show on the London stage’ (Daily Mail, April 2008) Billy Elliot continues to wow audiences night after night.

To commemorate the birthday celebrations, the cast were joined on stage after the show by Montreal-born 13 year old David Alvarez, 13 year old Trent Kowalik from New York and 14 year old Kiril Kulish from San Diego, recently announced as the three boys who will play Billy when the show opens on Broadway at the Imperial Theatre on 13 November 2008 (previews from October 1).

And as a souvenir of the occasion limited edition birthday badges were handed out to the audience.
