ANN EMERY - Grandma

Ann was educated in Mrs Smiths' School for Young Ladies. Trained for the stage at the Cone Ripman School and excelled in tap dancing, which directly led to her first stage role as a Babe in Babes In The Wood (King's Theatre, Hammersmith). Early stage appearances included The Crazy Gang Show Together Again (Victoria Palace Theatre) and The Night And The Music (London Coliseum).
PANTOMIME Dandini in Cinderella (Norwich and Harrogate) to Principal Boy in Aladdin (Finsbury Park Empire) and The Fairy Godmother Cinderella (De La Warr Pavilion).
RECENT THEATRE Sir Trevor Nunn's production of My Fair Lady (Royal National Theatre and The Theatre Royal Drury Lane), Hard Times (Theatre Royal Haymarket), the Grandmother in Roald Dahl's The Witches, Maggie in Inner City Jam (Cockpit Theatre, London) Clara in Hay Fever (Haymarket Theatre, Leicester), Hey Mr Producer! a tribute to Cameron Mackintosh (Lyceum Theatre, London) and Hortense in Cameron Mackintosh's Martin Guerre (Prince Edward Theatre, London). In repertory; Emily in Follies and Witchy in Raiders Of The Lost Bean (Leicester Haymarket), Mrs Higgins in Frank Dunlop's production of My Fair Lady (Germany with Maximillian Schell). Other work: Mrs Finnegan in Bertie (Alexandra Theatre Birmingham), Jack's Mother in Into The Woods (Library Theatre, Manchester) and Widow Corney in Oliver (Theatre Clwyd, Mold) and Fritzi in 70 Girls 70 (National Tour).
DANCE The Gumbie Cat in Cats (New London Theatre in Londons West End). From this she was asked to be tap coach to Wayne Sleep for Song & Dance and Wayne Sleep's Dash, (West End).
TELEVISION Mrs Meaker, Rentaghost, Ethel Rocket, Julia Jekyll & Harriett Hyde, S Club 7, Radio Roo, The Black & White Minstrel Show, The Dick Emery Show (all for the BBC) Nina from Argentina, Barrymore
